The beautiful jewel tones flatter the two roosters in the flower field. A large animal puzzle of 1000 pieces. THE ARTIST'S STORY: Over the years, I've decorated the walls of many of my family members with paintings that are not my usual look. Once I painted a 60x60 close-up zebra eye, a 36x48 sailboat at sea, and a recreation of my father-in-law's farm, among many others. The Rooster is one of those paintings done as a Christmas gift (2011). Bonnie's mother's maiden name is Hahn, which means rooster in a European language, and so I created this large portrait of my favorite rooster from our farm (a few years ago). For my mother-in-law, I wanted to capture the brilliant iridescence of his majestic pose in a flower field that would essentially brighten her kitchen and make a happy spot when she walked by. She tells me it worked ~ she stops and smiles every time.
